With the canister in the traditional upright position fuel use is more efficient but performance is reduced, especially in cold weather.

So you can now choose how you cook depending on time and conditions. You can even flip the canister upside down during normal operation for a quick boost on demand. The clever clip on stand that allows the canister to sit upside down is purposefully angled to allow easy access to the flame controller, even when wearing gloves.
