LOZ EAST – NORTON DISNEY
I ventured out to the Norton Disney for a 48 hour tutorial with two guys called Rich and Asa and we ended up fishing on Turners Lake in pegs one, two and three.
The session wasn’t hectic by any means, however, in the end we did manage a few fish between us and we all went away having caught. Both Rich and Asa fished small Disperse Solid Bags at close range over plenty of the house pellet and the flaked maize they sell at the fishery with Rich managing a lovely mid twenty mirror.
I decided to fish at long range using Orbit tapered main line varying the rigs as the session progressed including, Disperse Solid Bags, Multi Rigs and D-Rigs. I fished three rods tight to a small plateaux that was in 14ft of water with 21ft around it and I spombed out plenty of Mainline Baits Essential Cell boilie crumb, 10mm Essential Cell, corn, flaked maize and pellet.
I managed a handful of bites despite the lake fishing really slow, the carp had only spawned a few weeks prior to our trip and with the weather conditions up and down like a yo-yo it made everything that much more difficult. The highlight for me was landing a mega scaly mirror for my efforts and we all walked away pleased with the result.
All the best
